The soft clay is manipulated and attached inside a firmer outer wall. Once the piece is fired the outside surface is ground and polished. Like an eroding landscape open to the elements, the edge is refined and reduced as the inside and outside merge.

I have been exploring different ways of using the wheel.
The soft and expressive malleability of the clay material is evident like a dramatic fantastical landscape frozen in time.Â
The process of erosion further impacts on the scale of the piece but this process helps clarify the intensity of the expression.
It is a way of making which captures the drama of a world in flux; a transition which is simultaneously constructive and destructive.
Each work is unique as the process doesn't allow for duplication
