UX x Music x Exploration
A Day In The Life of a MUXICIAN / Minimap
Through my work over the past year, I have focussed on two topics that I've always been passionate about - Music and Exploration.
The Music Project : A Day In The Life of a MUXICIAN is a personal mission to explore music as a UX designer. This project aims at understanding how people relate to and experience music in different ways across genres and cultures. Following abstract experimental research methods, emphasis has been given to music being a multi-sensorial experience. As a result, 20 different ways to experience different aspects of music was inferred, which could make the musician and the listener appreciate music in a more meaningful way.
The Exploration Project : Minimap has evolved to be a digital product that uses video-game mechanics to gamify the way we navigate and explore our surroundings. Inspired by personal experiences during the GID semesters abroad in New York and Tokyo, "Minimap" is a collaborative project that bridges the gap between the online and offline, making discovery a serendipitous, delightful experience personifying simple exploration.

Designing experiences one can relate to on a personal level fascinates me the most. After having spent semesters in New York and Tokyo gaining valuable cultural insights and designing across different media, I spent my 2nd year as a Global Innovation Design student working on projects around music and exploration.
Dissertation : Titled "UX≠UI", proved that the most successful inventors, sportspersons, musicians, writers et al., have always been the best user experience designers, much before the term UX was coined.
Favourite design tools : Pen and Paper (and Sketchapp for UI design)
Interests/Strengths : Understanding Data, Interface Design, Creative & Brand Strategy, Cross-Cultural Learning
What I do best : Craft bespoke design processes suited to the problem, most evident through my sketchbooks
