MA work
My work explores traditional weaving techniques such as velvet, fil coupé, leno and basket-weaving and twists them in new directions. This collection is inspired by the textures, colours and silhouettes of fur and hair, and uses unusual and tactile combinations of materials to push the boundaries of the techniques, achieving an innovative and intriguing collection of fabrics designed for high-end womenswear. Focusing on hand-woven fabrics, the collection also contains Jaquard samples that complement the hand-worked techniques. I am driven by the endless possibilities for innovation that exist within the craft of weaving.
