"The storm is beautiful..."

And from a darker region comes a hand to wipe away the rainwater then gaze back to the heavy weather.

Then back to me, and

"You're right, things are different now. You can feel it, can't you..."

And I felt the ready plash and splash all over me, smelled the sharp difference in the air between the raindrops, and saw over fields and fences the first breaks of white sunlight slicing under the clouds. I tugged at the shoulder straps of my rucksack.

"Let's go on."

I leant into the rain and followed.
