With fragments of landscapes and bodies, my practice explores mortality, temporality and melancholia.Â
Delving into the sense of falling; falling into yourself, into sleep, into dreaming, depression or imagination.Â
By photographing fractions of scarred and inclosed landscapes I attempt to bring the viewer into an internal space, a space which presents passages into different realities.
My work is influenced and inspired by the harsh Nordic climate on the west coast of Norway where I grew up. How the land is affected by the weather and sea is reflected in the treatment of my photographic works.
The process of working and experimenting in the darkroom is essential to my practice; exploring the materiality of the photographic medium and the photograph as physical object.
