This design research is addresses the question of 'how to accelerate the meaningful connection between oversea families and local families and people?'
My concept is using school as a hub to connect parents with a volunteer programmr, called 'HOOD'. Volunteer parents can help new families to meet other families or neighbours in the area they live in. Through this service, families have a meaningful connection rather a random one. Together, the volunteer can earn a reputation in public and at school; new families get to know the people and neighbourhood quickly and comfortably; and other families and neighbours can get to know the new families more easily.
Overall, the neighbourhood and school become a much safer place.
