Over my last year I have been working closely with Bath Fashion Museum, as I have researched into a ‘Walking Dress’ from 1890–91 (Museum code: BATMC.I09.20090). Through working closely with this object I have researched into its provenance. Finding out information, such as the original maker's background. Using the new found information on ‘The Walking Dress,’ I have built my work around developing five pieces bespokely for my friend, muse and architect, Livia Wang. Livia has also been restoring the Van Gogh house in Stockwell, London, as we have been working together throughout the year. All five garments are inspired around the original 'Walking Dress' at Bath Fashion Museum, from its beautiful lines to its pattern.

Archiving, provenance and work in progress are themes that my practice draws itself from, as I question the value of the fashion process. With a stance that situates itself between the designer, fashion historian and the curator, my work moves fluidly between these fields. My final year's work has looked into clearly opening up the ‘behind the scenes’ nature of my work. By doing so, allowing the audience and customers to see a full journey from the beginning of an idea, to references, to all the toiles through a simple SWH (my initials) code. By doing so I aim to clearly demonstrate where I have drawn ideas from and the research around my references. This, I often phrase, designing for end archival point, by allowing such information to remain with my garments.
