The Missing Link
This thesis project, titled The Missing Link, thinks of the urbanism interior as a system of relationships, not only in a programmatic functional way, but also in an experiential and social way. It addresses the aesthetic risk under the tide of gentrification taken place in Soho, as in this process the extremely valuable diversity is missing. The proposed multiple-level structure, inserted in Berwick Street Market, serves as the missing link, stitching all aspects of everyday life of Soho. It investigates a prototype that is more about inclusive, rather than isolation and scripts a new story of Soho for the future.
