    MA Vehicle Design, 2018

  • My name is Sebastian, and I´m a designer in the making. I was born in Oslo, and started studying in the UK in 2012. After finishing my Foundation Diploma in art & design, I started on my BA Hons in Automotive Design, a degree within the Industrial Design Department. I am currently working on my master degree at the Royal College of Art, specialising in Vehicle Design and focusing increasingly on interiors.

Growing up, I was always surrounded by vehicles as my father is a professional photographer, doing a lot of work for companies such as BMW, AUDI, MINI and VW. As if this did not effect me enough, my uncle is a car journalist for one of Norway´s largest car magazines. In other words, I have spent my entire childhood around vehicles of all sorts. This also contributed to me becoming more and more interested in cars as the years started to pass. Assisting my father by driving cars for the sake of commercial photography, has shaped and strengthened my view on vehicle design. Starting at the age of 15, I have now driven around 120 plus different cars.

My style of design is very much focused on simplicity, minimalism and sleekness. Less is more, and I believe that great design is something that flows and feels natural to the user/consumer. That being said, I also carry a great passion for smart solutions and smart packaging. Although my chosen field of study is Automotive Design, I feel strongly for elegant concepts in Industrial Design in general.Â
