Many of us are concerned about our weight and we know that the population is getting bigger and that being over weight has an impact on our health. Despite our concerns, there is a great disconnection between the desire for a healthy diet and basic nutritional knowledge.

We have lost ownership over our own food and have no sense of nutritional values and food density. We run our body on a fuel that we do not understand. Resulting in an unbalanced diet causing under-/overconsumption of energy (calories) this has resulted in malnutrition.

Homemade dishes allow us to be in control of our food, but add an additional layer of complexity. It takes dedication and time to evaluate chosen ingredients and understand the overall nutritional benefits of every single cooked dish. Time and dedication most of us do not have even though we would like to live a healthy and balanced diet.

The 'Nutri-Project' is designed to monitor and display the actual nutritional values and food density while cooking homemade dishes, enabling the user to evaluate ingredients and energy density. ‘Nutri’ challenges the unit in which we measure food.
