The project speculates on a new type of banking institution, based on religious values and architecture. As conventional capital markets struggle with the repercussions of the financial crisis, Islamic finance has been increasing with an upward momentum. The proposal explores the architectural and social narrative of the Islamic; a hybrid condition between a sanctuary and a bank. The programme of the bank is flexible, subject to the constantly changing methods of working in an industry that is becoming immaterial. The architecture also captures these qualities by reacting to the influence of external natural elements and transforming them into spatial experiences.
