Project M—Iranian stamps from Monarchies to Mullahs to Mardom

This project explores Iran's collective identity and cultural history through a comprehensive collection of postage stamps. This collection includes official Iranian stamps, from the first one minted in 1865 to the latest one printed in 2018, in addition to new stamps created by Independent Iranian Stamp Committee that I founded during my studies at RCA. The new stamps commemorate events, people, and humanitarian campaigns that are neglected and banned by Iranian government. These stamps are used to send letters globally as well as to Iran through existing postal services.

  • I'm a research-led designer focusing on editorial design and using visual communication as an analytical tool. 

    My practice is situated between museums, art institutes and archives and using their collections as a resource to explore and respond to socio-political issues. 

    I'm interested in designing tools and workshops for learning through participatory events based on collaborative and social methods of education.
