At a time where human blood flows through animal veins, what are the social and psychological consequences of redesigning nature?

This work questions our understanding of the human condition concerning genetic engineering’s potential to impact notions of Self, Other and Identity.

My sculptural animal–humans or human–animals pry at the uncomfortable edges between human and animal, natural and artificial. With particular interest in the audience’s reaction to these indefinables, I wonder how they perceive these beings – as feral, mythological or futuristic. This area of bioethics continues to be difficult to define and underlines this exploration.
