Cathartic Release
This performance is about cathartic release where Sam explores the process of physical, mental and emotional purification, giving new meaning to both the material and the emotional that he has collected and carried throughout his life. As an expression of emotional release, Sam removes externalised representations of himself, bringing repressed feelings and memories into consciousness as a way of reclaiming and returning to a more fundamental sense of self.

Sam Ross is a performance artist who enquires and challenges the issues around personal identity and self-awareness. In his performance, Sam uses his body as metaphorical actions to develop and extend carriers for transformation, transgression, and cleansing through a process of purification.
