‘Informalities’ consists of series of resistances to the anaesthetised world we now inhabit, our movements dictated to us by machines and systems that lack natural senses and reduce our experiences down to their level, most notably the screen; making us more sedentary, dispersed and mediating our relationships, ultimately making us more alone than ever.
These resistances are presented as a series of insertions into city life designed to alienate the spectator from the ordinary and move them into a state of active contemplation, as in Epic theatre, and unlock new informal ways of inhabiting the urban environment.
'The audience must not sit back and feel, but sit forward and think.'
