Sally Stevens

MA work

I have a background in illustration and music, and was drawn to animation as a combination of the two. My interests lie in the rhythm and timing of things, and the darker areas of the human psyche, and this often leads naturally to humour. The boundaries that seem to exist between art and entertainment fuel my interest in both; animation seems to cross both of these worlds in interesting ways.

Moving image works:'F**k it', a hand-drawn animated film; an apocalyptic parable for the self-help age (dur 04:49) Duck and Andy: pixel animation depicting the relationship between a non-gender-specific Duck and a non-species specific animal called Andy (series of 20-second episodes)
