Adolescence is a compelling time: a strange mix of confidence and growing self-awareness juxtaposed with insecurity and vulnerability; a turbulent sea of isolation and loneliness, swum by transient half-beings in search of identity. I think it's interesting how this conflict presents itself in the exterior of young women. Also, their susceptibility creates power dynamics, and I like to see how this plays out between the adult viewer and the young subject.
