MA work

MA work

Prior to participating in MA Curating Contemporary Art, I worked as a freelance writer and artist liaison assistant in the exhibitions department at commercial gallery White Cube, London.

During the course of my studies at the RCA, I have developed my interest in socially engaged and politically motivated artists. My curatorial interests lie in how art functions at the intersection between social, political and cultural policies. My areas of research spans from the political efficacy of socially engaged practices to the influence of political movements, such as new wave feminism, anti-globalisation on artist production. This I explored in my research for my dissertation ‘Can the Exhibition Function as a Site of Protest: Is It Effective and What Are the Strategies That Govern Its efficacy?’

Upon completion of the MA, I hope to work with a non-profit organisation or a publicly funded institution to further explore these areas of interest. I am currently interning with Artangel and working as a researcher for non-profit arts organisation Culture + Conflict.

I have used the opportunity to develop my critical and academic writing skills and am a regular contributor to online art journals This is Tomorrow and Paper Visual Art, and working as Head of Press & Marketing for the final show exhibition No one lives here.
