OPUS BOOK - Reading reimagined
How could technology be used to transform reading from paper to screen? In the modern society, the advancement of technology allowed various means of entertainment and leisure activities to enter our daily life and occupy a piece of our attention, yet reading has so far failed to catch up in utilizing technology to upgrade its experience.
OPUS BOOK creates an enhanced leisure reading experience that uses current technology to generate greater immersion and focus. Using ambient sound generated with natural language processing (NLP), OPUS BOOK instantly immerses readers in the book scene. A tactile control is used to help readers find their most comfortable reading pace, while creating a physical engagement in the reading activity. Instead of reading from a wall of text, readers are guided through the text to achieve better focus. OPUS BOOK allows readers of various reading skills to enjoy the experience of reading through creating multiple layers of engagement.
