    MA Painting, 2018

  • My work consists of installation pieces that include paintings, performance and video works.  The experience of the viewer is in the meeting point and interaction of the three mediums – a combination which comes alive by turning a given painting into a background for a video projection, and the moving image as a reference to an actual, physical moving body.

I am interested in the storytelling process – I follow a given narrative, tapping it's more hidden springs, rather than searching for imagery relating to a theme. My sources are public platforms – Google, daily press, art history.

I am interested in communication with my audience. I respect the contemporary viewer – one who can easily recognize and relate to rhythmic and dynamic movement of an image, it’s relation with sound – yet I am interested in the ability to introduce this viewer to a different scene. This, being the heavier, richer, more complex logic and history of the dramatic arts. My storytelling is one that defies restrictions of both fields, and invites viewers to do the same.
