Rotenda Gene Nevhutalu

Rotenda's journey of appreciating the emotional connection between the subject and object began during the second year of his Industrial Design degree in South Africa. Growing up in a country that holds Scandinavian design sensibilities, he developed an appreciation of simplicity and a resourceful use of materials, while experimenting with ways of uplifting the object's responsiveness to experiences. Understanding that the tension between the object and subject is constantly imbalanced, he devoted his work in finding out how the principles of materiality can naturally evoke our human senses to narrate bespoke experiences and honesty in vehicle interiors.
