Whether it's constructed through ink and paper or pixels and light, writing inherently involves the production of an object – the text. But how is the relationship between this physical presence and the semantic meaning created through its formation balanced?
This work explores the dynamic between ideas and objects, taking the relationship between God and Christ, as described in John's Gospel, as a primary example.

I am a writer and designer, interested in role that critical debate and discourse can play in the progression of the discipline of graphic design.
It’s a discipline that’s always relied on the value of objects and the notion of tangible, stable outcomes, but we are at a moment at which the dependence on physical production is increasingly being questioned by the rise of digital modes of communication.
So it seems that things don’t need to exist in the literal way they once did, and as language returns to a state of flux the question of what graphic design actually is becomes an increasingly difficult one to answer.
