sw·oo·n: poised in non-spectacular ambiguity

‘sw·oo·n: poised in non spectacular ambiguity’ captures a moment of portraiture, looped continuously and enveloped by a Lavender aroma. An unfixed physical form slowly shifts and displaces, abstracting and snaps back to the recognisable.

  • Ro Hardaker flirts with particular articulations of identity which oscillate between tease and resistance. Through performance and writing they layer gestures which chart a relationship to and with the body; forming and improvising subject positions which consider the politics of care, the occupying of space, hidden labour and precarious nowness. Hardaker poses the body as a shifting archive, utilising their quivering, fleshy, warm-blooded vertebrate form to tease out tensions and question fixed logics of embodiment.
