MA work
Inspired by natural forms, still life and erotica Rhianna’s final major project conveys bold and graphic prints translated through a range of processes, such as digital and screen printing, dying, embellishment and leather finishing.
Â
Rhianna's work centres around the concept of fetish. She explores the way objects are fetishised through desire over need, looking in particular at the way the digital world has created an increased need and want for the tactile in design. Through process, technique and material Rhianna creates textiles that are extremely tactile. Contrasting hard and shiny with soft and fluffy materials she exaggerates the lavishness of each material surface inviting the need to touch.
Â
Through print, surface design processes, colour and material Rhianna creates overwhelmingly tactile luxury fashion fabrics.
