Chasing Shadows, René De Lange
Screen-printed organza
The essence of beauty lies in spontaneity and imperfection. This audacious print collection reflects individuality through contrasting mark making. The images dissolve leaving only traces of their former selves. Fabric disintegrates to reveal negative space. Interference causes the deconstruction of an image to reveal an illusion of what came before, and one that hints at what might follow. Dreamscapes nestle within folds, sometimes hidden within textures, sometimes leaping from the surface.
I have a passion for visual communication, whether through fashion, film or illustration. I place great value in experimentation, perception and colour.
