After studying Fine Art at Byam Shaw and Design at UCL/Slade and Il Politecnico di Milano, I worked in the international advertising industry. My area of specialisation became increasingly focused on the intersections between technology, the media and contemporary art. Curating was a logical progressive step in continuing the dialogue between media and fine art from a curatorial point of view.
While at the RCA I had the opportunity to pursue my interdisciplinary practice and work on projects that lie between technology, media and art. My proposal for the Monique Beudert interim project provided a platform for alternative modes of presentation of technology-driven practices outside the traditional white cube.
My dissertation topic placed Systems Control Theory in mathematics in dialogue with Systems art. This facilitated an investigation into technology’s relationship with artistic practice. I have been invited to participate in a research project in collaboration with RISD as a consequence of the relationship with the artist who formed the central focus of my dissertation.
I produced and directed an interactive documentary for the Curating Contemporary Art exhibition No one lives here. The film will be showcased at the RCA Show in June. My ongoing interest in the moving image and its relationship to network culture has developed both on a practical and conceptual level through my engagement with this project.
I have been commissioned to write and invited to participate in workshops outside the course in my area of interest.
