BreadlanD
Bread is a relevant object throughout almost everyone's life; it plays a part in different cultural activities, as people make breads in various ways.
Sharing is one of the most exciting and essentially important moments in bread culture. It brings happiness to individuals, families and groups of people. I want to visualise this experience and build a new destination for happiness in London.
Silo D is the chosen location because it used to serve as a flour kingdom, 'Millennium Mills', and the existing structures have a strong link to the baking industry. The spirit of sharing is applied to every single space in Silo D. People who love bread, who want to learn about baking and professional bakers all work together. Navigating through the 'Leaven Library', 'Kneading Lounge', "'Freezing Forests', 'Muddy Oven', gigantic cooling racks and blobby roof garden, people end their journey at a massive table with their 'outcomes'. Within the journey, different materials reflect the extreme temperature for baking.
Visitors at Silo D share their experiences, materials, time and of course the bread! Together making this a happy destination for escaping from the city life.
