Box of Mine
Globally, the majority of people don’t plan about their deaths. In the UK only 24 per cent of people have any written plans about their end of life wishes; while 75 per cent of breadwinners do not have a backup plan in place. This has serious consequences, because these people will leave all the burdens to their family and society.Â
Even though there is growing data to show that planing about death in advance can reduce the emotional distress of the deceased's surviving relatives; as well as, improve quality of life for both the person dying and their loved ones, while ensuring greater financial security. The challenges are – how can we empower people to plan about their death as early as they can; because death can happen anytime.
Box of Mine is built on a set of insights, as to why most of us do not talk or plan about death.
Box of Mine is a human-centred law firm, which provides a service that empowers young professionals to better manage their legacy – for both wealth and wellbeing – effortlessly, in order to avoid leaving any difficulties to their beloved ones once they have passed away. By educating young professionals on how death planning is related to their lives, and providing it all in one platform – from transforming their end of life wishes into a legal plan, processed in plain English, offering a lifelong partnership. From telling you what to update when your life circumstances change, to further navigating their executors based on what they have planned.
Besides, avoiding leaving any burdens to the family. For society, we hope that our service might increase the number of organ donors and raise more opportunities for other patients, save on costs, and boost donation for charities. Finally, on a cultural level, we hope Box of Mine will create a new ritual and social transformation around death, for not only dying with dignity, but also with responsibility.

Describing my practice is challenging. I have a keen interest in politics, art and creating a sustainable lifestyle. I am a philosopher, chef, studio owner, food truck initiator. But these roles are nothing, but boxes that limit our potential. Redefining these roles, I call myself a lifestyle innovator. With a diverse mindset, I was inspired to expand designing beyond material choice, and experiment on different approaches, to find the optimal solution.Â
My only goal in life is happiness – creating and giving it back to my community. The ingredients to my happiness are art, culture, food and travel. I feel fortunate to have discovered service design as a career path, combining my passion with my life goal. My vision is to use design as a tool to create a happier and easier way of life for everyone.
