Imodoka - A tool for a developing city
In a time where the car industry is shifting its focus from personal ownership towards various car sharing services, there are markets where shared mobility is needed and somewhat already implemented. This project is showcasing a modular infrastructure - a vehicle as a conduit for resources and as a means of transportation for self sustaining micro communities. It’s envisaged for 2040 Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, because Kigalians are characterised by collaborating for growth and degeneration of poverty through phenomenas such as ‘Ikimina’ and ‘Umuganda’. Taking a stance in this mentality, a vehicle can be used and taken care of by a bigger group of people - enabling freedom of movement and growth through collaboration.

An interest in historical and experimental approaches to the built environment, combined with a fascination for the sculptural grace of automotive design, has from the start directed me on my educational path. As I am now about to finish 7 years of higher education within Product and Automotive Design I am looking forward to venturing out into an industry currently undergoing a major paradigm shift. It is with great excitement that I feel I am contributing to this shift by exploring alternative scenarios where efficient transport systems and vehicles minimise our use of natural resources, all the while creating an easier life for the citizens of a global community.
Experience gained from several internships at leading manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Scania and Volvo Trucks has enhanced my ambition to take part in creating appealing and beneficial mobility solutions.Â
