The Dean Suite

The Dean Suite is a satirical business concept representing our ambivalence towards higher education, the art word and the leisure industry. The project entertains the comic horror in their universal adoption of luxury and commerce.

  • As Sitcom Billie Muraben and I orchestrate situation-based communication; functioning as director, actor and audience in deadpan appraisals of social life. We play on expectations of context (out of, slipping between, exaggerating), value (exchange, production, social) and agency (freedom of choice).

Challenging notions of authorship through scenarios which set up a tension and collapse the boundary between actor - be that a person, an object, a space, and audience.

We are interested in the definition of The Entertainer and communicate our situations with a focus on play, joy and humour; a theatre that requests an active, engaged response from all participants.

We see our place as being in engaging with civic space, public institutions and corporate structure. Mapping spatial experience and intervening with habits, systems, tradition and everyday propaganda.
