„Process Plug-Ins“

A plug-in is a component that adds an extra feature or function to a specific system. I create iterations on classic object types by examining their modes of manufacture, assembly or use. By introducing plug-ins which alter the usual outcome, I try to cultivate a critical approach towards our relationship with what surrounds us, blurring the line between everyday furniture and conceptual pieces.

These examples often result in objects that oscillate between expressive compositions and hyper-rational assembly borrowing and referring to aspects from different areas to use as tools. They allow me open a hyperreal space, devoid of predominant ideals, to experiment and test in.

Through this design methodology, my work tries to provoke discussion through reimagining classic mechanisms of mass manufacture, crafts and corporate culture (system) and confronting them with notions of do-it-yourself, post internet culture and readymades (plug-in).
