Animation with pencil and acrylic on paper
My work is often very chaotic and surreal. I try to be as spontaneous with my work as I can be, moving away from conventional methods often associated with short animated filmmaking. Before I’m about to draw anything at my light box, I try to get in a state of mind where I don’t think about any of the goings-on in my life, and I draw straight ahead.
This creates images on paper that are often childlike, with very energetic movement that, over the course of many drawings, creates a narrative of nonsense that can be perceived differently by everybody who watches it.
