Image and Body Adornment

'An unidentified man sets off on a boat. While the water is drifting, he hears a child laughing mischievously and he smells the sweetness of cherry blossom. The grass blows in the wind, he hears the rhythm of clapping game. When the sun rises, he returns to the land where he last saw his beloved one.'

My work is poetic, reminiscent, and imaginative. Each piece of my work has an individual story; the image of each work gives meaning and breathes new life into body adornment. The child keepsake box reveals the white lie of a mischievous little girl, while the necklace embodies the preciousness of memory. The pendent portrays the first intimate touch, while the ring celebrates the willingness of giving the last bite. Now we see the images as a subject: the same way I see my body adornments.

  • Delivering a certain standard of audience experience is always my focus. My work ranges from interactive installation to large scale art forms that aims to promote other people's work in a specific location. I am more interested in working with diverse materials than making artwork constrained by conventional forms. I see jewellery as more than a means to accessorise or present our self-image; rather, it builds closer ties between art and people through physical interaction. As an art practitioner, I make objects that invite people to reflect, thereby enabling discourse and discussion around the matters that lie at the heart of my practice.
