In my paintings I explore how memories can become blurred

and distorted. How reality is ambiguous and overlaid with fictional events.

The initial images for my paintings are drawn recollections of random private memories. Through a habitual exercise of repeated drawing and visualisation of these memories across time, I try to pull out the essence – in spite of the facts.

It is my intention that the spectator experiences the paintings detached from their source occurrences. The process of developing these pictures is based on deep reflection combined with spontaneous intervention. A main focus of interest for me is a sense or meaning within individual pictures. Through my actions, experience of reality becomes a distorted un-reality. Memories are revealed as forgeries.
