  • My master thesis is a co-housing proposal in Peckham.

The project concerns the components that play a decisive role when a house becomes a home. The notion of identity and cultural heritage related to a place has been a recurring theme throughout my architectural discourse.

How does the institution of family adapt to the information age and how does the government adapt to population growth and housing shortage in a more isolated and segregated urban environment? Can contemporary ways of living result in an alternative take on minimum space standards specified in the London Plan?

The key for this adaptation is to introduce shared spaces in contemporary housing schemes.

My project enables for a series of conditions which would ease the pressure put upon the planning authorities while simultaneously increase the sense of community within the building and among its tenants. By designing neat self-assemble units for the needed amount of tenants in relation its scheme I can release space from the scheme to realize the conditions. These conditions include, social infrastructure, public house, civic playground, hanging greenhouses and the façade as legal art zone.
