Affinit
The story of Affinit draws on the symbolism of circularity inherent in understanding of time, space and connectedness. Through the theme of sustainability, it addresses virtual immersion in communication interfaces and anxiety related to mental separation from physical realm, associating the need for information archiving to desire for matter regulation. The film humors the idea of one's life as a collection of archived images, that become the key to establishing sustainability of both matter and identity.

Drawing from semiotics, philosophical, sociological and psychoanalytic theories, my work reflects upon the influence of language, objects, visual aesthetics, and cinematic narrative structures on perception of reality and self-identity. Through film narratives and works in forms of installations, drawings and sculptures, I explore the intertwining of collective and personal within the psyche. My films outline fictional orders, defined by objects and signs, addressing notions of communication, virtuality, control and memory.
