Through the use of cameras, mirrors and autobiography, I am exploring some of the ways that human beings move between different experiences and realities.
Through the viewfinder of the camera, the subject seems to be the focus of an in-depth analysis, even though the very subject we are viewing is itself an altered version of ‘reality’ – after all, it is just light being bounced around inside the body of the camera. Bringing together mirrors, cameras and autobiography, I explore the way in which we ricochet from experience to experience through different realities. These bounced and refracted beams of light – that is, different experiences and realities – become one projection of self.
