Rolar – Making Solar Artful

Rolar Blinds put Solar at the centre of the design process by exploiting the unique aesthetic properties of printed photovoltaic technology. Being semi translucent, printed PV is optically very beautiful, it is flexible and because it is printed it means the make-up of the panels themselves can be composed. These properties have been used to design a set of roll up blinds that are not only interesting to look at but also actively harvest energy from the sun outside. The energy is stored in batteries in the pull bar and can be accessed through USB, the batteries can be removed and taken with you for ease of access.
