The way of storing belongings has always interested me. I enjoy observing ‘chineseness’, such as people who stack things tightly together for transport, or use ubiquitous possibilities to create a little comfort and convenience. As a visitor living in a temporary and small space, finding storage gaps becomes an unconscious action.
Being aware of intimate spaces informs the way I investigate jewellery. Wearing a piece of space as a piece of jewellery allows it to contain physical things, or it could be a special symbolic space. It could also be a space in its own right.
