Broadly speaking, when I create the more sculptural work, I try to keep an open dialogue with the materials at hand and find the art pieces through engaging with the material qualities; say how builders props extend towards the ceiling, or how industrial cling film stretches and wraps. 

This year I have also been integrating performance and movement into my practice. In example, using movement improvisation as this particular way of working is close to where my interests lies: in that moment where you are not sure what will happen, so you have to work your way through it.

Through this search I made an installation called ‘The Momental Order of Things (II) (2018)’, where the material objects of the installation are things such as barrels, builders props, a trolley and a ratchet strap, and together with these objects performances happen. Both objects and performances change throughout the installation time. Objects are moved and changed, and generally lend themselves to being re-configured throughout the show. Within this scenario performers join in, and both objects and performers push, pull, lean, drag, wrap or hold each other at different times, as moments of configurations emerge, are captured in that moment, before they are pulled apart reconfigured.
