  • Nadja Voorham is an interdisciplinary artist concerned with intimacy and the subtle erotic. Central to her work are the power dynamics of attempts to hide desire, shame and failure. In this context she explores the modes of performance that arise from the real, imagined or feared presence of others. She works across performance, moving image, text and sculpture, using elements from socio–corporeal cultures of sports and BDSM. In staged encounters, Voorham exposes the body to disclose the construction of the surface. The work is an invitation to notice the moment desires and hidden narratives leak into exposure.
