Where here and there meet
Places represent the main characters in my visual narratives. I believe that we belong to all places in the world but only have the chance to experience a few of them in a lifetime. The idea that we can never really own them makes them more desirable to me.
Places nevertheless have a territorial condition, they divide ‘the self’ from ‘the other’. Through my work I attempt to locate places in a neutral ground, where it is not clear when ‘here’ and ‘there’ begin or end.
