We all have collections, whether we consider ourselves collectors or not. We keep interesting things, sometimes for sentiment or function, or simply because we like them.

Collecting is an innate human trait and though our objects may be diverse, they all have a story. Where are they from, what do they do, how are they made? The answers are revealing, often ingenious and a key to understanding the world.

This project explores collecting and its potential to inform a way of working. I began by curating a collection of objects, scrutinising and understanding them. Through this process, they have inspired and informed Some New Things.
