Mireia Gordi i Vila

MA work

Fragile looks into the world of shipping: a flexible packaging system as a reusable companion to the packaged object rather than a disposable skin. An inquiry into the materiality and the typologies of transport packaging for valuable goods.

Form follows format.  Format follows logistics.

  • My work usually reviews object typologies.  Challenging the material, the form, the use and eventually how industrial objects are made to find more efficient and intelligent ways to do them. I would like to think I do projects rather than objects, as industrial objects live in a certain environment, used by a certain people, have a certain cycle, deliver a certain service. Each object is a system.
