The OPACITY Trust Mark is the first independent consumer instrument to hold companies and organisations which create Artificial Intelligence that resembles the diversity of humanity. Artificial Intelligence is increasingly being used to automate our world, and with it come increasingly challenging social issues. The OPACITY Trust Mark raises the bar of inclusive algorithms by certifying the process of their development using a peer-to-peer service. The mark additionally brings a new form of transparency to online automated decisions making by providing relevant information to the user in the moment when algorithms are used to automate high stakes eligibility decisions such as in financing, law and employment. OPACITY offers a tool to query these autonomous decisions, thereby empowering users to hold these services to account.
