MPhil work

Drinking a cup of tea, taking a bowl from the cupboard - do we look beyond the material and the potential function?

This practice-based MPhil project builds on my experience as a production potter to investigate the way in which we engage with the ceramic container.

Through the use of a combination of traditional and digital tools and techniques, a body of work has been produced that bridges craft and design, art and science, helping to provide a new model of contemporary ceramic practice.
