Miaojian Dong

MA work

Cracked Chimney

It is a portrait film about my dad. Showing my observation between him and his objects, like Walnut, apples and leaves. His particular reaction with these objects are given some particular intangible common sensation for me to understand him, which created lots of post memory between me and my dad. and the feeling of time is translated by my viewing of a balcony.

    MA Animation, 2016

  • Drawing is the most comfortable and natural way for me to map my imagination down through observation. Animation is giving the imagination alive to build up more connection between me and surroundings by memories, post-memories. It is as special as it is, which is able to record the fantasy of my understandings with everyday stills and lives.
