Just a Person Who Lives Honestly
It is a luxury to think about stopping. Showing that gestures are always accompanied with a bit of powerlessness. Because it is pushed forward, it is impossible even to ask for a pause.
In the open environment, watching the movement of the city, silently sizzling in a state of reaction. By displaying the process of a balloon going from expansion to contraction, this period explores the moment in which we are alive, the moving inner heart and moving desires, the moving people and the moving city. I did it when waiting for the balloon to become its biggest, and I did not do it when I wanted it most.
The balloon was painted, filled with air and then deflated – this short process of air is limited by the size of the balloon.

Mei Teng Wong was born and raised in Macau and is now currently based in London, Macau and mainland China.
Her works emphasises the interplay between aesthetics and society, and discovers layers of ambiguous systems in the middle of the contemporary environment and the individual's perception. Forming alternative corresponding benefits from social phenomena, her practice constantly explores modern interpretation through existing mechanisms, the process of life and other matters, developing their aesthetic expression through installation, painting, moving image, etc.
