MA work

Variants

Variants is about exploring the use of dynamic moulding techniques in order to achieve variation of form from object to object. My methods allow me to fabricate bespoke items at a high volume. I hope this project will challenge the long-standing limitations in design, by separating monetary economy and formal repetition.

The project also explores the relationship between function and form, when you have manufacturing techniques with real-time variability.

  • My designer-maker background has taught me to develop my design skills by getting my hands dirty; in order to fully understand materials and manufacturing processes, before applying them to practice. My passion for creation and methodical disposition allows my, often complex, objects and ideas to become intelligible.
