Menswear, Mason Jung
My inspiration is based on the antipathy towards formal wear for its fossilised forms and attributes of restricting individuality. People have developed specific forms and rules in clothing. This collection is about questioning the general perception towards clothing and showing how to identify individuality from stereotypes. I have made transforming clothes from ordinary forms to liberal forms and creating typical looking garments with unusual ways of construction to suggest a diversion of conception. From a technical point, I appreciate accumulated craftsmanship of men’s attire and use classic tailoring technique in these new forms for clothing.
